Happy No-work Monday!
Seriously if we had every Monday or every Friday off, I think the world would be a much happier place, who’s with me?
I go through phases where I’m all about saving money. The checking account & the savings account looks great, the credit card is only charged with life necessities and I’m feeling like a million bucks. And then labor day weekend rolls along and I say to myself “Girl, you’ve been so good. Look how much money you’ve saved. Have you seen Banana Republic’s new fall arrivals?! That Karen Walker dress is on super sale! You need those heels for fashion week. Just splurge on everything now and that way you can save next week.” And all my hard work gets shot to hell and just like that, I’m back to feeling like that poor college student having to drag myself to the dining hall cause Chipotle is just a little too expensive at the moment.
But, back to the point, when I’m forcing myself to save money I always feel as if I have nothing to wear. Which is totally fine if you’re just going to work because who cares if my coworkers judge me for always wearing black pants and a white shirt. But, when you blog, it’s not cute to post the same thing all the time….believe me I’ve thought about it, until my mother looks at me and so rudely says “haven’t you worn that already on the blog?” So, I try to dip into the closet archive and make it work with what I already have.
I love the uptown means downtown vibe of this look. The 90’s vibe of the shirt tied around the waist reminds me of that cool girl downtown vibe, but I love that the shirt has bows and paired with my favorite splurge bag and my look alike Dior sunnies, it gives it more of an uptown look. As much as I loved this look and was super proud of myself for mixing and matching and working with my closet, I can’t wait to wear all of my recent finds on the blog, so stay tuned!!
Dress: Asos (also love this striped version). Shirt: J.Crew. Shoes: Dolce Vita. Bag: Celine. Watch: Michael Kors. Sunnies: Express.
Thank you so much for reading! Hope you all are enjoying the last day of freedom from work!
