Happy Monday everyone!I’m normally not one for Mondays, but since today is my birthday, it’s just become my favorite day and I’m feeling jolly. I spent the weekend celebrating and since I’m a homebody, my celebrations consisted of ordering pizza and watching Netflix movies all weekend with my family and frankly it was perfect and I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend.
For my birthday last year, I went to The New York Palace to shoot some photos and it’s been one of my favorite new traditions. I just love how festive the decorations are, the obvious Gossip Girl vibes and the way it just instantly puts me in the holiday spirit. This year, I wore my favorite red top to blend in with all the festive decorations and some simple white jeans for more of a casual holiday look.
To say 23 was a tumultuous roller coaster ride would be the understatement of the year. I realized my dream job wasn’t actually my dream and instead my worst nightmare. I dealt with enough verbal abuse from the people I worked for day in and day out that I could write my own version of The Devil Wears Prada. And I lost hope and felt trapped for a big part of it. But through all that, I also found my way to my actual dream job, started working for such an inspiring and kind team, grew even closer with my family, learned who my real friends were, realized that I’m stronger than I ever thought I was and most importantly to me, found my happiness again. So, I’m actually excited to see what adventures and lessons 24 has in store for me because I’ve hit what felt like rock bottom in my professional career and personal life this year, found my way out of it and now I truly feel as if I can only go up from here.
