Current Skincare Routine And Favorite Products

I’m so excited to share today’s post because it involves my current obsession: skincare! For the past few years, I’ve been obsessed with makeup. But, skincare, I honestly never gave a second thought to. Nothing about it used to interest me. That all changed about a month ago when I started using a new skincare routine. My skin cleared up in a way that it never has before, it was super glowy and smooth and my makeup looked even more amazing. So now, I’m pretty much obsessed with all things skincare and constantly wanting to buy and try out new products! But first, I want to share my current skincare routine and favorite products.

Skin Type:

Just some background on my skin type for reference: I have oily skin, especially in my T-zone. My skin is somewhat sensitive. I have some redness and acne scarring on my cheeks.

Tula:

I wanted to organize this post in order of what I apply first, but honestly Tula products are what inspired this post and are the true stars of this post so I wanted to talk about them first! Because¬†OH. MY. GOD. GUYS!! My skin has never looked better. Honestly, the last time my skin was this clear and smooth was probably when I was born. Their products smell so good, it’s not super artificial or perfume like, but just smells fresh. You truly see instant results that I’m still in shock.

The Purifying Face Cleanser makes my skin feel clean, but not super dry and squeaky. The Illuminating Face Serum is by far my favorite product. I want to bathe in this product I love it so much. It really does illuminate your skin and makes you look so glowy. I used both the cleanser and serum day and night, but I especially loved the serum in the morning because it was a great base for my makeup. The Hydrating Day & Night Cream was a thicker moisturizer so I only used it at night. While I did like the product, it was the one that I wasn’t fully in love with. I think if you have dry to normal skin this would be great, but it was just a little too heavy for my oily skin at the moment. My skin tends to be more combination/dry during the winter so I think it would be great then.

Tatcha:

Tatcha is a Japanese brand inspired by geisha skincare rituals. A lot of beauty influencers rave about their products so I wanted to give the brand a try. They are definitely an investment for your skin, but so worth. Their water cream has so many amazing reviews, but this Balanced Pore Perfecting Water Gel Moisturizer was more fitting for oily skin so I decided to give this one a try. The reviews for this product on Sephora are mixed so I was a bit hesitant to purchase it, but I don’t regret it all!

There’s actual gold dust in the formula so it gives you such a pretty glow. I personally prefer using this in the morning before my makeup since it’s a great base. It does feel sticky to the touch which is why it’s great for makeup, but with that being said, it doesn’t make you feel sticky unless you touch your face. If you apply this at night, it won’t stay sticky the entire time, it just takes time to seep into the skin. But, once it does, if you have oily skin, it is a miracle. It truly tames your skin and keeps you matte. Anything that will help me keep the oils at bay, is worth the money in my opinion!

Erborian:

Erborian is a Korean brand and Korean beauty products are known for being amazing for your skin. I first saw this cc creme in a YouTube video and was so blown away that I wanted to try it out so badly. It comes out white, but once applied to your skin, it adapts to your skin tone and provides you with your perfect shade. Like, what?! As someone who is so bad at matching myself to foundation/concealer colors, this sounded like a dream.

For being a cc creme, it has some great coverage, but it’s also natural enough if you don’t like a full glam look. I love how fresh and glowy this made my skin look. I actually bought this because I wanted something I could just slap on for days where I’m running late and don’t have time to do my full makeup routine. But, I love how it looks so I’ve been wearing it daily and it’s perfect for the summer since it’s lighter than a regular foundation. My only con is that this is more pink/cool toned while I’m more yellow/warm toned so it does oxidize and look a bit darker/orange on me, but I find that an easy solve is to wear a great primer with this. I used this Becca one and it helped the cc creme match my skin tone perfectly and these two products together was one of my best makeup days!

Boscia:

I love Boscia products! My oily skin just soaks their products up and takes to them so well. This is probably the 10th Makeup-BreakUp Cleansing Oil I’ve purchased since I love it that much. I used to just use a makeup remover wipe, but after using this oil I can’t go back to it. When I went to Vietnam, I used makeup remover wipes since they were more convenient and I didn’t have all my products. I hated how my face felt with just the wipe, I still felt like there was product on my face and just felt sticky. This is the first step to my makeup removal process. I apply this oil to my dry face and I instantly see the product move and start coming off. It comes off so smoothly that I don’t have to pull or tug on my skin to try and work it off. When I rinse off the oil, my face feels so clean and soft.

Bioderma:

Bioderma used to be such a talked about product a few years ago. I remember when I first got into Youtube, all the beauty gurus were using it. But, it was a French product and you could only get it off of Amazon for like $40. I could never afford it, but always wanted to try it. Fast forward to today and I saw that Ricky’s in New York had a whole Bioderma section. I was so freaking excited and ran in and was even more excited to see that this bottle was only $15.

Bioderma is a micellar water that basically gets every little thing off your face. This is the second step in my routine. I shake it up, apply some on a cotton pad and then wipe it across my face. It does a great job with removing any excess makeup that didn’t come off with the oil and it makes me feel 100% clean. I highly recommend using a micellar water especially if you wear makeup everyday. I’m such a strong believer that you can’t remove makeup with just one product, it’s a process. As amazing as your remover may be (and my Bosica one is amazing), this is the perfect added step to really remove any last trace. Even if you don’t use makeup, this is great for applying when you get home to get that outside world off of your face!

Final Step:

After this, I wash my face with the Tula cleanser, apply the serum and finish it off with the cream that we discussed first!

And there you have it, my current skincare routine and favorite products! Not to toot my own horn, but since using all of these products together, my skin has looked amazing. I seriously take off my makeup at the end of the day and just stare at myself in shock. I’m being so serious when I say my skin hasn’t looked this clear since birth!!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and give these products a try! Would love to know if you do and would love to know any products you recommend. I’m thinking of doing a “Sephora Sample Review” post since I’ve gotten a ton of samples lately and have been trying to give each one a fair shot to review so be on the lookout for that!
