Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great long weekend! Did anyone else take advantage of all the Labor Day sales? I actually didn’t go too crazy and only purchased two things from Loft. You guys know how much I love summer and dresses, but I do have a soft spot in my heart for fall fashion. And fall is when I like to look into those splurge items and really invest in certain pieces. Outerwear items are my absolute weakness and I can’t get through a season without picking up at least 2 or 3 coats. But, each season my wishlist varies depending on what’s new for the season and what I felt was missing from my wardrobe last fall. So today I wanted to share the 5 items I’m looking to invest in this fall.
The best transitional item which is why it was one of my first purchases for fall. It’s perfect for work, but also great for a more casual look since it looks great with jeans. I just love that it’s a nice twist on a classic blazer since it’s sweater material. I’ve been loving wearing this with camis and sleeveless tops, but I can already imagine how perfect of a layering piece this will be when the weather gets colder. As much as I love fall fashion, I’m a bit of a “lazy” fall dresser. By that I mean, there’s nothing I hate more than the cold weather and when it’s cold out I instantly forget how to dress. So I like investing in outerwear pieces like this sweater blazer so that I can throw on any old top and then throw this on top and still look presentable.
My weight has been fluctuating lately and I’m in between sizes so I’m not really in the mood to invest in designer denim. But, there’s nothing I love more than a good pair of jeans. The colder months can get boring pretty quickly since theres not that much variation when it comes to bottoms. I know for me personally, I rotate my favorite black jeans and a dark wash pair of skinnies. But, this season I’m into playing with different silhouettes and details on jeans to keep it more interesting. I just ordered this pair from Loft that I’m really excited about since it’s cropped and slightly flared. And the petite size fits me perfectly which is a rare find so I’m even more excited. Loft has been having a great selection with different fits, floral embroidered options and even two tone so I’m looking forward to trying the different styles and they are pretty wallet friendly.
I realized my love for the saddle bag shape this past summer. My first one was a free gift with purchase from Victoria’s Secret that I am still very much in love with. I also picked up one during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’ve been really looking for a nice leather one to invest in, but haven’t seen anything amazing. The ones out there are either too bulky or too small and way too expensive. But, after a recent shopping trip, I saw this one and knew I finally found the one. It’s definitely a splurge and investment item, but in my opinion, it’s pretty reasonable for a well made designer handbag. I believe it comes in 5 different colors, but I’m leaning towards and saving for the red one, which is more vibrant in person than it is online.
I recently visited the Bloomingdales Soho location. To be honest, I just went in for a quick bathroom break. But, while I was there I figured I would pop into the shoe department. Oh my gosh, I’m so happy I did because I locked eyes with this baby and nearly lost myself. For the past two years, I’ve been leaning more towards booties than riding boots and each season always looking to invest in a great pair of black booties. The block heel is my fave, especially with the pearl detail. Again another investment piece that I’m currently saving for, but I do feel that these are timeless. I know some may find the pearl detail to be trendy, but I actually really like that detail and since I naturally gravitate towards simple styles and silhouettes, I love the unique touch on these.
My all time fave sunglasses brand. My best friend Kyle, gave me the pair I always wear in my posts as a gift awhile back and I’ve been wearing them everyday since. I think they are so well made and so incredibly flattering. I stumbled upon a table set up of Gentle Monster sunglasses last week when I dropped into Saks and fell in love with all of the pairs I tried on. I’m currently saving for another pair, although I love the brand so much that I don’t know which one exactly, but I would love to start the fall season with a fresh pair of sunnies.
Thanks so much for reading! Hope you all had a great long weekend. I would love to hear about any splurge items you currently have your eye on!
