My Favorite Ways To Unwind After A Stressful Week

Happy Friday! I’ve had plans or some kind of commitment for the past few Fridays so tonight I’m looking forward to just having a quiet and relaxing night in at my boyfriend’s place. Surprisingly, this has been a pretty calm week at work which I haven’t had in weeks. It’s kind of the calm before the storm since the coming weeks will be crazy! So today I wanted to share my favorite ways to unwind after a stressful week. Pretty much a random list of things I look forward to when Friday rolls around.

Cami :: Pants :: Jacket :: Bag :: Similar Shoes :: Sunnies

Dinner Out

Personally, I’m not one for a crazy night out, but I do enjoy a nice dinner with my boyfriend or best friend Kyle, especially after a stressful week. There’s something so relaxing about finding new restaurants, having a drink and talking┬áventing about your week. It’s really such a great start to the weekend. And if we’re feeling a little more adventurous, we’ll hit up a gay bar. I hate bars/clubs since they’re just not my scene. But, there’s a piano gay bar in the west village called The Monster and I always have so much fun when I go with Kyle.

Treat Your Self

My number one weakness is bubble tea. I can drink one everyday if I’m being honest, but not only is there a ton of sugar in drink, but that’s about $5 for one each day. So it’s become my routine to get bubble tea on Fridays as a treat to myself. Some of my favorite Friday memories are getting bubble tea with my mom and boyfriend and just talking and joking around. Or I’ll order pizza or pick up Chinese food on the way home. Basically, switching up my everyday routine and treating myself because it’s Friday. So whether your vice is a bottle of wine, some Indian food or a whole pint of ice cream, just treat yourself. After a long week, you for sure deserve it.

Put The Phone Away

I have absolutely no problem with this. I’m definitely the worlds worst texter. But, I think it’s so important to just disconnect and unwind from the work week especially if you’re trying to leave your problems and stress behind. Let your phone die, turn it off or just put it away, whatever it takes for you to get off of it and just be in the moment. Whether you chose to go out or have a relaxing night in, getting rid of the phone can do wonders.

Movie or YouTube Marathon

When I worked in editorial and was super depressed, the highlight of my week would be watching Shane Dawson videos on Youtube every Friday. He posts 7 days a week so I would binge watch everything I missed on Friday. I still do because it’s become a routine and something I look forward to! If I’m not scrolling through YouTube, I love catching up on shows I missed through the week or something on Netflix. I’m actually looking forward on catching up on Once Upon A Time & the new Dynasty today. But, I love just getting lost in the internet on Friday and not having to worry about anything!

Pamper Yourself

I love a good at home spa moment. My ultimate relaxing step I take is to just pamper myself. I’ll use a body scrub in the shower. I’ll put on a face mask (I just purchased these patches and am so excited to try!) and paint my nails. I love hitting up Netflix while I’m pampering myself and sipping on some bubble tea. That to me is a dream Friday night!

Do you think I could be any more boring yet?! I seriously just love a quiet night in. But anyways, regardless of how you like to spend your Friday night, I hope you all have an amazing weekend! See you back here on Monday and thank you for reading!
