Happy Friday! I can’t believe it’s August!
Growing up my mother always had the most fabulous black suits. She always looked so professional and beautiful. Oddly enough I’ve always loved a good power suit on women, unfortunately I don’t work in an industry where black suits are required. If there’s anything I learned from working in fashion PR, you have to be dressed comfortably for the hard work and long hours, but fashionable enough to attend a last minute fashion conference at the end of the day.
I don’t know if you guys have seen the movie The Other Women, but I recently got it on DVD and can’t stop watching it! In one scene Cameron Diaz is wearing an updated version of a power suit. I’m talking black pants, black pumps, and a white blouse and blazer. She looked fantastic to say the least and I was incredibly inspired. I’ve gone back and forth on whether or not I wanted a white blazer, but when I spotted this Loft one, I knew I had to have it. It is such a classic piece and adds a little something more than a plain black blazer would have. Since it’s still summer, I added a cobalt blue tee for a pop of color and my favorite black heels.
While walking around the Meatpacking District, my mom and I stumbled upon the Christian Louboutin store. I’m pretty sure I stood outside drooling for a good ten minutes. Here’s something you guys don’t know about me, I am OBSESSED with nail polish. I legitimately think I have a problem. But, if you look closely you can spot the $50.00 Christian Louboutin nail polish! Crazy? Yes. But as someone who is in love with nail polish, I feel like it’s a good collector item (Yep. I’m just looking for ways to justify this). Mom if you’re reading this, the nail polish is still at the top of my wish list!!
