Why did you start blogging?
Before I answer this question, I’m going to backtrack a little. I remember it was my sophomore year of college and I was up late procrastinating on a paper of course. I don’t remember how, but I stumbled upon Atlantic-Pacific and was introduced to the wonderful world of Blair Eadie. Ever since then I constantly kept finding and looking for new blogs to follow and was thus introduced into the blogging world.
I have always admired bloggers for their confidence and creativity. I started a YouTube channel in 2011, but was always so embarrassed to talk about it and put myself out there. In case you don’t already know, I graduated college this year in May. I was determined to make this year my year because hey “if your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.” I decided to forget my fears and put myself out there and the rest is history. I love having a creative space that is all my own and I can not tell you how happy blogging makes me.
What is your dream job?
I am currently working in Fashion PR and I absolutely love it. It’s been such an incredible experience and I have had the opportunity to communicate with editors and stylist that I have always looked up to. But, my ultimate goal and my ultimate dream job would be working for a fashion magazine in the Hearst Building. Something about that building takes my breath away. I’ve always aspired to work for Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, Elle or Marie Claire. Frankly it’s a pretty big dream and it terrifies me everyday, but I know that with a little faith in God and a lot of hard work, I’ll get there eventually.
Who is your favorite designer?
This is such a hard question! I would have to say Jason Wu. I always get so excited to view his collection online every New York Fashion Week. I love his design aesthetic and I went a little too crazy and over budget when he made a collection with Target. I also love Alice & Olivia, it’s so girly, fun and quirky, but still wearable and glamorous.
Where is your favorite place to go?
My heart will always belong to New York City. I was born in Manhattan, educated in Manhattan and leaving New York to attend college just enforced the idea that this is where I belong. But if I had to go somewhere else I would have to say Miami. I took a trip there before graduation and fell in love.
What is your one item you can’t live without?
I don’t know how to answer this! I wish I could break it up into categories, but I think I would have to say my iPad. Not only can I still surf the internet and go on Bloglovin and Tumblr, but it also holds all of my books and I love to read.
What is your favorite animal?
If we are talking about household pets, definitely a dog. I am obsessed, but if we’re going a little more exotic, definitely a monkey. I was born in the year of the monkey and I absolutely love them.
Best concert you have been to?
I haven’t been to many! But, I once saw a free concert that featured Ariana Grande, All Star Weekend and Bridgit Mendler. I got a really embarrsing tan in the shape of my v-neck, but it was the most fun I ever had.
Best childhood memory?
This is such a hard question! It’s going to sound strange, but it’s something I actually don’t remember, but have heard the story countless times. When I was younger I didn’t want to have anything to do with my Uncle Pat, for some reason he was just not my cup of tea. Then one day he was eating a sandwich and potato chips and I walked (since I was young, I think I waddled) up to him, sat down and started eating his potato chips. Ever since then we’ve been the best of friends. I love this “memory” because I can’t believe there was ever a time I didn’t like my Uncle Pat. He’s been the only father figure I’ve ever known and is the perfect example of how a man should act and I’m so grateful to call someone as amazing as him my uncle.
Three words to describe your style?
Classic. Timeless. New York.
*I know I cheated because New York is two words, but I think in a sense New Yorkers as a whole have a specific style. Yes, everyone’s style is different, but I think the New York style is naturally very effortless and I love how style differs depending on what neighborhood you are in. If you are uptown, you definitely see a more classic and glamourous style and if you are downtown you see a trendier mix.*
What is your favorite trend?
I’m currently obsessed with the jumper trend, it’s so classic and chic, and the “pajama pants” trend as my boyfriend calls them. Basically those loose pants with the elastic tie waist that just look so comfortable. I recently found a pair at C.Wonder and you can expect to see it on the blog very, very soon!
