New York Fashion Week is officially over and all of the magazine editors & top bloggers are currently running around from show to show in London…*sigh* maybe one day… This weekend was spent catching up on sleep and it was exactly what I needed after a stressful two weeks.
*Now prepare yourself for picture overload!!*
The goal of today’s post is simple: recap my fashion week experience without sounding like a major fan-girl and instead try to sound like a “real life adult who works in the fashion industry and goes to industry events all the time”…yep, set myself up for failure there.
Honestly I work alongside a lot of people who view fashion week as a “been there, done that” event. Even going as far as saying they hate fashion week and also complain about running from show to show and from front row to front row. But, I love fashion week, I love everything about it and I feel so incredibly blessed to have been able to experience it for the second time just months after graduation. So if I sound like a fan-girl that’s fine because I would rather freak out and get excited than be one of those fashion girls who tries to act cool and nonchalant as if I don’t really care that I get to take part in one of the biggest fashion events.
Rant over…So here we go!

If you know me or read my blog regularly, you know I love Marissa Webb. If you don’t find inspiration in how she went from being an orphan in Korea to becoming a major force in the fashion industry, I don’t know what will inspire you….plus she’s best friends with Wendy of Wendy’s Lookbook so that makes me love her even more. But, back to the point…I had the amazing opportunity to attend her FW15 show at Milk Studios and it was honestly everything I wanted it to be and more. The collection was gorgeous and seriously the perfect balance of feminine and masculine. I love Marissa Webb’s aesthetic and style so I pretty much found inspiration in every look.
Also loved the massive posters outside of Milk.
…And some of my favorite looks…see full collection here.
After Marissa Webb, my mom and I took a few blog photos (see here) and made a quick stop at the Apple store to recharge our phones and warm up a bit before heading to the Hudson Mercantile for the Hanley Mellon presentation. I worked on the PR team for this presentation last September, so it was really cool to be able to attend as a guest. Each season the Mellon’s are inspired by a different country they have been to and create a collection around their experience. And let me tell you the collection for fall was gorgeous. The below all black look was by far one of my favorites.
The presentation was one of my favorites and it was not only great catching up with my old PR family, but the champagne and overall vibe was incredible. Definitely a great kick off to fashion week.

On Saturday I was invited to the BR presentation at 6 and the Moncler Grenoble show at 7 and since Saturday was freezing and the Moncler show was in Brooklyn right near the water, I decided to stay in Manhattan and devote my time to BR, although seeing pictures from the event really makes me wish I could have attended!
But, 99.9% of the time I’m wearing head-to-toe BR so you can imagine my excitement at being able to attend the first ever Banana Republic presentation. I pretty much wanted every single piece to come home with me that night and even though I’m 50 shades of over this weather, the collection definitely inspired me to have a little more fun with my closet until the weather warms up.
…And I was inches away from Marissa Webb…*cue freak out*.

Pros: Getting invited to the J.Crew FW15 presentation.
Cons: Having Monday off because of President’s Day and taking Wednesday off to run some errands and attend a show so deciding to skip the Tuesday presentation because I wanted to get some work done before my day off…being an adult and being responsible sucks.

If you read my recap from September, you know the LSB show is one of my favorites. I spent the summer sample trafficking Sally LaPointe, Ellery and LSB samples so I have a special appreciation for those brands, but LSB is one of my absolute favorites. I love the designer, Mr. Lie, and I love that he shows at Lincoln Center, which is my absolute favorite venue. Since it was freezing and the end of fashion week, there weren’t nearly as many people & photographers outside as there were in September, but it was still fun nonetheless. The collection was gorgeous and I loved the combination of leather, wool, satin and sequins in the designs. The coats were incredible and it was overall an amazing show.
I love Lincoln Center from a PR & a guest standpoint because everything is so organized and there are just great vibes in there. I’m really sad it’s the last year at Lincoln Center & the last year with Mercedes Benz being a sponsor, so here’s the obligatory picture in front of the sign!
I’m not a car person…partially cause I don’t know anything about them and partially cause I don’t have my license…yep, you read that right, but hey I’m from NYC, on my 16th birthday I was given a metro card which was basically the New York version of a license, but anyways I couldn’t help, but admire this beauty.
I also love all of the different booths set up in the tents. The Tresemme salon is one of my favorites.
Always love the E! set up, especially with their gif photo booth!
Free cards at the very pink and very chic Papyrus booth!
Photo-op at the Pandora booth!
The Tide lounge was another favorite. Loved the closet set up they had and this mirror was made for selfies!
One of the main highlights for me during fashion week is knowing my favorite bloggers are in the city. I love following along on their Instagram journey, but running into them is even better. I was so surprised at how many top bloggers attended the Marissa Webb show and wish I had gotten a chance to meet more of my favorite bloggers.
But…again if you know me or read my blog regularly you know my absolute favorite blogger is Wendy of Wendy’s Lookbook. I almost ran into her last September, but couldn’t catch up with her as she ran off to her next show. So you can imagine how nervous/excited/flustered I was meeting her at the Marissa Webb show and again at the BR presentation. She is just as gorgeous in person and so incredibly nice and amazing. Girl crush for sure.
Also met Kat from With Love from Kat outside of Milk Studios. Just as gorgeous in person (love the Celine sunnies) and she was so nice to my mom and I!
And lastly ran into Julia of Gal Meets Glam at the BR presentation. Her and her husband were so kind and they made such a cute couple.
….And that was my NYFW FW15 experience! Thank you so much for reading and bearing with me through this long post. In true fan-girl style I always have so much to say because it’s such an exciting time for me and I want to share it all with you. So thank you for following along and I hope you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed writing it!
