I’m really excited about today’s Abercrombie and Fitch review post because it’s the first in a new series I want to start.
Online shopping is difficult in that you never know how something is going to fit or feel and if you should size up, down or stay true to size. But, I have a few ride or die brands that I swear by. The ones where you can place an order on anything and be confident about the size and your overall purchase.
And I wanted to start drawing a spotlight on my favorite brands so the next time you’re falling down a shopping hole or on page 32 of Nordstrom, you can hopefully narrow it down. But, today I wanted to start with a brand that I re-fell in love with last year, Abercrombie & Fitch!
ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH REVIEW: PRICE POINT & SALES
When I was in high school, A&F was THE IT STORE.
Your whole wardrobe pretty much consisted of the graphic logo tees, polos, skinny jeans and a polo dress. When I went to college, it was as if everyone just magically was over it. If I’m being honest, I never really stopped liking Abercrombie, it just seemed like I needed to grow up and move on.
Being from New York, the only stores we had access to, were the flagship store on 5th ave, which never had sales and always had a line to get in. And the location in South Street Seaport which was so far downtown. So needless to say, my love for A&F was an expensive one since I always went to the flagship store and online ordering wasn’t a big part of my life then.
When I started venturing over to their site last year, I was so surprised to see their prices nowadays and the amount of sales they have.
To be honest, I think they’re priced pretty well. Especially for the quality you receive. And what I love is that they have a different sale like almost every week. I have four pairs of jeans from them and I don’t think I’ve ever spent over $30 on them because I always catch them during the sale. I have a ton of graphic tees, no not the A&F logo ones, just fun graphic tees that I’ve gotten for as low as $6.
If you’re in need of a wardrobe pick me up, be sure to check out their website and sign up for newsletters so you can see when they have sales. I also signed up for their rewards program which is great because every now and then I get a $10 off coupon!
ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH REVIEW: THEIR FIT
I try to work my angles and I hope I come across as tall and skinny.
I would love you forever if you come to my blog and think “wow, she’s so tall and skinny.” Thank you very much.
But, really I’m short and have hips for days. I’m pear shaped. So it’s always hard shopping online because I never know what’s going to fit or what’s going to be flattering. But, for me, Abercrombie & I have a 98% success rate.
Their jeans, specifically the Simone High Waist Ankle style is by far my favorite. Ankle jeans never actually hit ankle length on me, but these do and I almost passed out from happiness when I put them on and they fit perfectly. I picked them up in black, regular blue denim and a flare pair that I’ll be featuring on the blog soon. I also picked up a pair of boyfriend jeans from them that I love as well.
I find that their skinny jeans fit true to size. I like them because they have stretch in them, but if you’re pretty skinny, I would maybe size down. I’ve never tried their girlfriend jeans, but I’ve heard from friends that you should size up. As for tops, I personally like them because a lot of their styles are loose and flowy which is what I like and I find them to be super flattering.
ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH REVIEW: SO MANY OPTIONS!
A&F has such a great selection from casual to dressy to loungewear. I think they do a great job with including it all.
I was once looking at a lounge sweater and they styled it three different ways from casual to dressy and I was so impressed I had to pick it up.
Their denim selection is amazing, from high rise to low rise to skinny to boyfriend to embroidered, they seriously have everything. I think a lot of their blouses and sweaters could be dressed up or down which is great. Same goes for their dresses and in the summer they have rompers and jumpers as well. I also love their lounge section because it is really great to wear in or out.
I think they’ve done a great job with becoming such a well rounded brand.
ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH REVIEW: CUSTOMER SERVICE
It used to be that you would walk in the store and be intimated by the tall, skinny person trying to spray perfume on you.
But, nowadays it’s just a more friendlier vibe. Seriously, step into an Abercrombie the next time you’re at a mall and I think you’ll be able to tell the difference.
I put in a ton of orders, seriously once a month and every so often, I get something that doesn’t fit just right. The process to return is so simple and anytime I’ve gone the sales associate has been nothing but nice and accommodating. Plus their shipping is so fast as well which is the cherry on top if you spend most of your time online like I do.
Customer Service for me is so important. I don’t care how much I love your clothes, if a brand is rude or disrespectful, I’ll stay far away, but I think Abercrombie does a great job of taking care of their customer.
Please tell me you’re running to your nearest Abercrombie. I’ll even forgiven you for closing out of my blog to go to their website. But, I hope you enjoyed this Abercrombie and Fitch review and series idea!
Also, remember when I alluded on working on something fun to post to Insta. I posted it on Wednesday night and was so nervous, but was so excited to see the response from it. I’m super proud and can’t wait to do more. Check it out here.
Have a great & relaxing weekend everyone!
