Anytime I have a lazy weekend and don’t do much of anything, I always feel like it makes the weekend fly by. This weekend felt way too short! Is it bad to say that I’m already counting down until Friday?! Because I am. How was your weekend? As I get older, I feel like I appreciate, strive for and need to be organized at all times. There’s nothing I love more than an organized living space, working space, just space in general. It really makes me feel like I have my life together. And in my quest to remain organized, I love making personal weekly goals.
At work, I always make a list every Friday of any outstanding projects, tasks or new milestones coming up that I need to handle the following week. That way, when I come in on Monday I know exactly what is a priority. And I feel like I also need that approach in my personal life. So today I wanted to share my 5 main personal weekly goals of everything I need to do and want to accomplish.
My 5 Personal Weekly Goals
Do My Skincare Routine As Soon As I Get Home
I’m normally pretty good with this, but lately I’ve been putting it off. I tell myself, “well I’ll just sit for a few minutes then I’ll go” but then I end up eating dinner then working on my computer and then it’s 10pm and I’m exhausted and still have my face on. I still NEVER go to bed with makeup on, but when I put it off, I tend to cut corners like I won’t ice roll or I’ll skip a serum or two. So my goal is to get back on track and take care of my skincare routine as soon as I get home.
Stay Calm, Cool & Collected During The Week
This week is supposed to be a little crazy at work with a fair amount of meetings and deliverables. It’s always hard to get back into the hustle and bustle of a commute and the pressure of running around at work after such a relaxing weekend. So one of my biggest goals for the week is just to stay calm, cool and collected. On Friday, I talked about how I put so much pressure on myself and honestly it’s because I care so much, sometimes too much and I need to learn to let go so with that being said, I’m just going to be aware of my feelings and learn to keep them in check.
Know When To Call It A Day
I’m definitely the type that’s always like “Just one more thing!” and next thing you know it’s either 7pm and I’m still at work or it’s 11pm and I’m still working on my blog. I’ve found that I’m ten times more productive after a good night sleep and can come into the office with fresh eyes and really give it my all from 9 to 6 rather than sitting there frustrated and stressed at 7 trying to get something done that can be done tomorrow. It’s something I’m still working on because I always just prefer to finish everything and have a clear list for the next day, but that’s not always realistic and it’s not always my best work if it feels forced. So this week, I’m listening to myself and knowing when to put the pencils down and tuck in my chair for the day.
Pay Off My Credit Card & Start Shopping For Birthday Gifts
It’s a pay week!! My favorite week! So this week, I’m planning to pay off my credit cards, something I actually do every other week and it’s something I’m really proud of. Mama didn’t raise no fool, no credit card debt for this gal! And since my mom’s birthday and one of my best friends birthday is coming up, I’m planning on doing some shopping. As much as I love shopping for myself, I love getting gifts for people more. It truly excites me and I just can’t wait to give them a gift, especially when I’m 100% positive that it’s something they will love.
Purge My Old Clothes & Make Room For Fall Things!
On Sunday, my mom & I did a quick Starbucks run. My go-to linen dresses were in the wash, so I threw on this old dress I had for years and that used to be my go-to summer dress. What was once my favorite dress, now felt and looked too short on me and I was just not digging it at all. And it made me realize that there’s a lot of pieces I have in my closet that I’m just kind of holding on to. So this week I’m planning on doing a big closet purge to get rid of the clothes I no longer use and instead donate them. And then organize my current wardrobe to make room for new fall things!
