Happy Friday! This has been such a long and stressful week and I can’t wait for the weekend to begin!
I can not believe New York Fashion Week is officially over! But, even more importantly I can not believe how blessed I was to not only experience it, up close and personal, once, but three times. After all of the NYFW prep, I can honestly tell you Fashion PR is NOT the easiest job to handle, especially during fashion week (we are currently prepping for Paris & Milan so it’s still hectic in the office!!). There is so much to do, especially when you have more than one client showing. There are a lot of late hours involved and in the midst of planning and prepping for shows, you have to continue on with your normal day-to-day tasks, which include a heavy amount of sample trafficking. It’s safe to say I am thoroughly worn out.
There will be a special post tomorrow, all about my experience with the three shows my company hosted, but I wanted to focus on one venue in particular…Lincoln Center. You know how I was just talking about the stress and the long hours? I would honestly go through it all over again, just to be able to experience the magic that is Lincoln Center. I feel so incredibly blessed that after graduating from college, I have the opportunity to participate in NYFW. The LIE SANGBONG show was by far my favorite. It was so beautifully done and the designer is as cute as can be. Inside the venue, there are tons of things happening and tons of freebies. There were an endless supply of magazines, a fridge filled with free iced coffee and yogurt, a Tresemme booth with free shampoo and an E! booth that featured a photo booth where you could make yourself into a GIF. Even typing this out is making me excited all over again!
I was lucky enough to be able to invite my mom and boyfriend to the show, both of which were so excited to experience it as well and absolutely loved the show! After the show, we went to grab a bite to eat and I was stunned seeing all of the people outside of the building. There were street style photographers, bloggers and fans all around. After our lunch, my mom and I decided to head back to Lincoln Center and people watch (what can I say? It’s our favorite past time!). I am so so so happy we did. Not only did my mom and I get to spend an afternoon together bonding, we got to be a part of such an incredible environment. Not only were we taking blog pictures, but there were so many other bloggers there as well. It felt incredible taking blog pictures next to other bloggers and made me so happy to be a part of the blogging community.
Hands down the best part of the day was seeing and meeting some of my favorite bloggers. The only person I truly wanted to see was Wendy Nguyen…so you can imagine my surprise when she raced right by me. I’m not even lying when I say I couldn’t speak. Unfortunately she was racing off to another show so I couldn’t run her down (believe me I was close to trying!), but my mom got a fabulous picture of her. Ok, enough from me and my overexcitement! Check back tomorrow for more details and pictures!!
