Happy Friday! As you’re reading this I am currently having my first NYFW experience. I also get to experience the magic that is Lincoln Center tomorrow as well. Perks of working in Fashion PR!
It might seem strange, but I’m 10x more comfortable and confident when I dress up. Don’t get me wrong, I love my casual outfits just as much as the next girl, but I just love dressing up. I’ve always been the girl who preferred to wear dresses and skirts to anything else and while that might seem like dressing up to other people, to me dresses were casual and comfortable so it felt like dressing down. I am seriously in love with this white blouse from C. Wonder and have been wearing it non-stop. It is so versatile. I love the combination of the silk blouse with my Express shorts, especially when I added a white blazer. I thought it was the perfect combination and the perfect amount of “dressed up.” I wore this outfit to brunch with my mom and my boyfriend when we took her out for her birthday brunch. I wanted to wear something that was appropriate for the heat (honestly, is it really September?!), something that made me feel confident and something that was appropriate for our Brunch location.
My boyfriend and I took my mom to BlueWater Grill, a fantastic seafood restaurant in Union Square. The inside was so gorgeous and the outside seating was fantastic. It seriously looked like the backdrop of a Gossip Girl scene, so you can imagine I was channeling my inner Blair Waldorf the whole time. I’m seriously in love with this place and definitely plan on returning. My mother ordered the salmon and I ordered the crab cake BLT and both were fantastic. My non-seafood eating boyfriend, got a burger, and since his plate was clear by the end of the meal, I think he really enjoyed it. We had the best mimosas and the most fabulous desert. My mother and I shared the Banana Ice Cream Tower and my boyfriend got the chocolate molten cake with ice cream. The service, the scenery and the company was incredible. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend the weekend and seeing my mother so happy was definitely the cherry on top.
