As much as I love shopping, I’m actually pretty smart about money. Well, I’m not, but my mom manages my account and nothing slips past her so I have to be smart with my money. As much as I love the holidays, it’s a pretty expensive time. Not only do you have to account for regular expenses (those metro cards are not cheap!) now you’re adding on gifts, decoration, parties, get togethers and holiday attire to the mix. Those things add up!
That’s why I think it’s important to try and work with what you already have in your closet. Clothes are just clothes, it’s all about how you style them. So throughout this month, I hope to provide you with some style inspiration. Not necessarily telling you “buy this sparkly dress!” (although I do have a holiday dressing post coming up for those of you in the market for a new one!), but more so hoping to inspire you to pull out things you have in your closet and style them in a new way, because frankly I have yet to purchase a new outfit for all the festivities.
I truly love the versatility of dresses, especially when it’s a fit and flare dress that can also be styled into a skirt. So I paired my black/white striped dress with a jewel toned button down to add a pop of color. Some bright contrasting heels that help accentuate both the pink and teal. And a silver clutch (which was actually my prom clutch) to dress it up a little more.
Thank you so much for reading! Are you someone that always purchases a new holiday outfit or do you like to restyle your closet finds? I would love to know!
Hope you enjoyed the week of posts. Make sure you check back in on Monday for a whole new week of content!
