There’s something about Fashion Week that really challenges you to step out of your comfort zone. There are seriously no rules so the crazier and out of the box your look is, the better. I originally wanted to wear this blouse with white wide leg pants and a leather jacket layered under my coat, but honestly it was too freaking cold for silk pants and it just wasn’t me. I looked like a Rachel Zoe wannabe who outdid the layering and got too excited with color. So instead of going crazy like some of my favorite street style stars, I decided to stay true to myself and stick with my love for straight, simple and sleek silhouettes with fun accents and a play on colors.
I actually love the color combination of rose, maroon and hunter green. And I’m finally debuting the second Anthropologie feather shirt I purchased. For some reason, I have an addiction to feather accents and have wanted to purchase every shirt, blazer, skirt, dress I have ever come across….but feather shirts are not exactly wallet friendly so when I snagged this one on sale, I was ecstatic and consider it such a great investment piece for my closet. And to finish off the look (and keep me extra warm) I threw on my Charlotte Simone fur stole for a “glamorous, dramatic, “I’m actually a diva” vibe” and because I loved the pop of pink against the green.
Not as loud & notable as some of NYFW’s finest, but I’m proud of myself for playing with colors and texture and stepping out of my comfort zone. Plus I was photographed by a few street style photographers…which let me tell you, definitely boosts a girl’s confidence!
Thank you so much for reading L.A Style, N.Y Smile!! Have a fantastic weekend and make sure to stop by on Monday for my full NYFW recap (you can check out last season’s recap here)!
