Happy Monday! Summer used to be my favorite season. Warm weather + no school = a dream come true! Now that I’m older and have a big girl job, summer isn’t as great as it used to be. NYC summer’s are notorious for being brutal. Humid, hot and sticky! Which is why I like to stick to the basics because nothing is worse than having a complicated, over-the-top, super trendy outfit on a sticky summer day.
My go-to outfit for the summer consists of distressed denim shorts, a white shirt, flip flops or espadrilles, aviators and my fedora. One of my favorite white shirts (and believe me, I have an extensive collection) is my Loft linen popover. I’ve had this shirt for years and have definitely worn the hell out of it. I don’t usually gravitate towards shorts, but I’ve had these denim shorts for as long as I can remember and they fit like a glove. Plus what’s better than a pair of distressed denim shorts?
I’ve always been obsessed with aviators, which is why I was ecstatic when I purchased these Ray Ban aviators. They’re such a classic and I find myself wanting to go outside just so I can wear them. As for my fedora, I purchased it in a street fair for such a great price. I’ve always loved how hats looked on girls and wanted to be one of those girls who could rock a hat. When I found this fedora, I knew it was meant to be.
